Council Campaign Kicks Off

Local business owner, President of the Avenue L Merchants Association, and community activist Mercedes Narcisse kicked off her campaign last week for the 46th District City Council seat -- currently held by Lew Fidler, whose term will end next year. The June 11 fundraising event at 9602 Avenue L, which will serve as her campaign headquarters, drew many friends, including civic and religious leaders. The Democratic candidate (center) is flanked by supporters and friends, including Josie Nover, local real estate agent and activist, Lherison Kneol, Max Abelson, Dr. Dolcine Dalmacy and Adrien Percy, Jr., president of Our Lady of Trust Parents Association.
